Our company is headed by a Senior-level APPRAISER who is accredited at the highest attainable level in many forms of personal property, including Rare Books, Documents, Manuscripts, Collectibles, Autographs, Archives, Collections, Maps, and Residential Contents. In addition, our staff is comprised of trained and experienced appraisers and researchers who are able to professionally evaluate the history, features, styling, provenance and significance of literally thousands of personal property items, ranging from the ordinary, and obscure, to the rare. The diversity of the credentials within Nugent Appraisal Services is unique and permits us to understand and deal with collections and archives. We have a staff of professionally trained ARCHIVISTS who have twenty-six years experience in the consultation with, and organization of library and museum special collections, governmental, institutional archives and private collections. Understanding how to judge condition, and how best to preserve an item(s) for future stability should be the goal of every professional appraiser. Nugent Appraisal Services has an on-staff trained and experienced CONSERVATOR, with expertise in the preservation of all types of paper and leather items.

At Nugent Appraisal Services, our staff is headed by a Senior-Accredited appraiser who has been tested and accredited by the American Society of Appraisers. We also have an appraiser who is a member of the International Society of Appraisers. This is your assurance that we have the specialized knowledge achieved through academic study and practical experience to competently render appraisals for specific purposes, such as insurance coverage, casualty insurance, retail sale, estate tax, family law, marital, tax donation, and equitable distribution. We have been appraising personal property, including specialized items such as manuscripts, documents, autographs, and maps since 1976. As an expert in these specialized fields, we have the only Senior-Accredited appraiser of books, manuscripts, and antique maps, and the only accredited appraiser, archivist and conservator in the United States. Nugent Appraisal Services is firmly committed, when reporting the results of the personal property appraisal, to always communicate each analysis, opinion, and conclusion in a manner that is understandable and founded on recognized methods and techniques that are necessary to produce a credible appraisal.
